A Christian testimony novella on Christian love.
INTRODUCTION
The love of Christ, or Christian love, is something I have thought a lot about since my relationship with our Lord became serious several years ago. I have taught Sunday school classes and delivered devotionals concerning the love of Christ: what it is and how we should express it in our daily lives. Each time I broach this subject, the more fascinated I become not only with its awesome power of healing and purity, but, even more so with the all-powerful God who created and manifested it through his son, Jesus Christ.
I am nobody special, simply a dedicated member of the United Methodist Church. I am what most of you are: a layperson with a hunger to know our Lord and his mysterious ways in a deeper and richer way. As we begin our study of Christian love, it is comforting to know that we do not need to be theologians, Biblical scholars, or even particularly Biblically knowledgeable to be able to feel and live the love of Jesus Christ. If we seek his love our Lord will surely provide the means for us to experience and express it. When we consider Paul’s words in his great chapter on love in 1 Corinthians, as he speaks of the great gifts of faith, hope and love, (1 Corinthians 13:13), we see that love is our Lord’s greatest gift to us, even more important than faith itself.
Now is the time for all of us to take a closer look and make a more serious study of this wonderful gift of love.
The Love of Christ is approximately 18,200 words in length
I have submitted The Love of Christ to The Upper Room for publication consideration. I pray that our Lord does His will with this writing, whatever that may be.
